Brawls and Goals NYR/BOS April 11 1970 QF GM # 3
FanDome's Best of the Day
Mixed emotions deluge the Mouth fragile psyche as he is glad the Rangers took the opener of their best of seven against the Washington Capitals on April 15th 2009. But the victory is marred with what... The Mouth considers a poor Ranger effort both defensively as well as mentally Too may penalties and too many shots by Capitals sniper Alex Ovechkin almost sent the Big man to the ER and the Blueshirts to a 1-0 deficit in the seiries. However the Rangers prevailed and The Mouth remains ecstatic as he does find a solid positive that Henrik Lundqvist was playoff ready while his counterpart Jose Theodore was not. He also treats us to an observation that the caps may have used their first line way to much so early in the series perhaps making them overworked by series end. To celebrate the victory , the Mouth Flicks the switch on the ranger time machine and treats us to a Ranger/Bruin playoff game Played on April 11th 1970 at MSG. A Plyoff game which features a line brawl and a fight between Ranger Jack Egers and Bruin Gary Doak.more>>

Rangers blocked 178 shots today
Usually it's the other way around. But you are exactly right. The rangers have been sacrificing their bodies as well as their sticks (too many broken sticks) to stop shots from getting to Hank
Absolutely. Tortellini has the boys playing tough around their own net. All 5 guys on the ice are collapsing to block shots and prevent rebounds. Washington has to be so frustrated with only 50% of their shots getting through. You breaking out the broom yet?
Avery stirred up some trouble last night. Go Rangers!
